B is for Backyard Bunny...
I've always believed in signs, not the traffic kind, but the kind that appear out of the blue when perhaps you have some "big questions" or worries troubling you. I love the synchronicity and reassurance of names, numbers or events popping up when you need them most or just as a reminder that the universe embraces us.
On my daughter's recent birthday, it was sunny and warm when without warning a small raincloud passed over and scattered us with big fat drops. My daughter joyfully danced around saying, "Mother Nature knows how much I love the rain so she sent me rain for my birthday!" After a few minutes, we were favored with a full, end-to-end rainbow. I thought her observation was spot on.
So, yesterday, when I looked out the kitchen window and saw this little guy bouncing across the yard, I felt very fortunate indeed. I've had some worries lately and the sight of him was very comforting to say the least. We've lived in this house for over nine years and I've never seen a wild rabbit in our backyard or even in our neighborhood, so this was definitely an unusual occurrence.
B is for Buddha...
some of my favorite quotes by Buddha:
Believe nothing, no matter where you read it, or who said it, no matter if I have said it, unless it agrees with your own reason and your own common sense.
All that we are is the result of what we have thought. The mind is everything. What we think we become.
The secret of health for both mind and body is not to mourn for the past, not to worry about the future, or not to anticipate troubles, but to live in the present moment wisely and earnestly.
Peace comes from within. Do not seek it without.
Let us rise up and be thankful; for if we didn't learn a lot today, at least we learned a little, and if we didn't learn a little, at least we didn't get sick, and if we got sick, at least we didn't die; so, let us all be thankful.

Your bunny photo caught my eye today....they are "special" to my sister....Goldfinches bring me comfort and hope. They seem to appear when I need them the most. I looked up "rabbit" the other day for my sister and found that they can symbolize "creativity....helping to face fear." I thought you might like to know.

I love these recent posts and pictures. It's hard to believe you have trouble coming up with blog entries as they are so good.

That first quote is one of the main reasons that I'm Buddhist. It's more about your own personal relationship with things, not what others tell you is the truth.
